Hebrews 11:1  Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

While we live our earthly lives as followers of Christ, faith carries us along on the journey. It is the assured confidence that all we learn from Scripture and experience personally about God’s love and plan is real and true.

When we get to Heaven and see and experience the reality of all we’ve hoped for, we will no longer need faith. Richard Sibbes wrote, “Faith is then swallowed up in full enjoyment and vision for things now hoped for.” Swallowed up. Consumed. Used up.

For now, we sorely need faith; to believe, to endure, to hope. For now. But…

When the assurance and conviction Paul speaks of in Hebrews 11:11 are realized, faith is satisfied and finished. Done.

There is not and will never be faith in Heaven. There is no need for it. Never will be.
