Millions of people will attend worship services today, but how many will really worship God? As the TV episode has been trimmed down to allow for more commercials, the Lord’s Day has been edited to the Lord’s Hour.

It is often, and sadly, wedged into a busy Sunday schedule full of other activities that do not support or enhance the Lord’s Day. We sit in the pews and watch others do things while we ponder what we’ll do as soon this is over (and the sooner, the better).

This often keeps us from truly entering into a mode…an attitude of worship…and the result robs us of the joy and blessings that come from a true encounter with the awe and wonder and majesty and power of our God.

Father, today is busy, yes, but help me to worship You as I ought; as You deserve. Amen.
